The Black Crowes
Shepherd's Bush Empire
Shepherd's Bush Empire is a great venue as far as I'm concerned - easy access/good transport links, in London, an old venue with plenty of character, etc. I've seen the Black Crowes there a number of times and they've all been good.
This time was no exception, although there was no magic in the air, I still enjoyed it. The highlight was Chris Robinson explaining the manner in which the acoustics of a band work, to the people at the front of the audience who were complaining that they couldn't hear the vocals properly. The best sound quality if normally where that guy in the mixing desk is, that's why he's there, of course. It was a 'science lesson', according to Chris. Sound advice.
